First post so I thought an intro might be in order. I'm new to the whole hi-fi world but have been building guitar amps for the last 5 years.

I recently received a Hammond AO-58 (looks like a point-to-point ST70) as a gift and now I'm hooked. I ordered the "rebuild" kit and a new power transformer earlier this week so maybe by next weekend I'll know what all the fuss is about. Very Happy

Welcome to the forum Normster. I read somewhere years back that Hammond had Dynaco build them point to point ST-70 to be installed in their organ. If I remember correctly there were 3 of them installed.

Hammond didn't "trust" the printed circuit board in their organ.

That's pretty much what I was able to find out as well. It was used with a Hammond G-100 that had a separate rack holding three ST-70s and a mono-block. (325 watts total.) I've decided to keep the AO-58 intact and just ordered new outputs for the the kit so I'll have something to compare to when I'm done.

Here are a couple of photos just in case anyone is interested in the PTP version.
