Hi --
about 20 years ago I acquired a stash of Tesla (not JJ) EL34's with Dark Blue (Cobalt??) Glass Envelopes and promptly forgot about them. Recently, I found them in back of storage closet and thought that I would use them for a Dynaco ST-70 project. Some of the tubes had black bases, some had brown and some had a brown speckeled base, so I would guess the tubes are from the 1960's and 1970's.
But, the pins don't fit the Dynaco's standard octal tube sockets and the tubes will not seat themselves. The same was true for the 2 tube testers that I tried them on. Even tried an octal socket extender that I had on hand and it was also a NOGO.
Has anyone run into this problem with Tesla Brand Tubes?? Is there anyway to use the tubes other than filing down the pins??
Please let me know. Thanks in advance!!
