It was with sadness that I read of the passing of William C. "Bill" Thomas. Bill passed away last November 3rd, 2011 but this fact was just reported on another audio related board today - 2/24/12. Bill, who was 72, was the moderator of the Vintage Circle on the AudioCircles and a real proponent of the restoration and rebuilding of Dynaco Tube gear. Bill was a wealth of knowlege when it came to anything "Dynaco" be it Dynaco tube preamps, amps or FM tuners. He had a long career in radio and television and recently retired as a real estate broker.

Years ago I use to get into some controversial discussions with Bill on the "other" Dynaco forum. We didn't always agree but I always respected his wealth of knowledge. Below are five links to some of Bill's very informative posts on the Vintage AudioCircle.

    Bob,
Bill Thomas was an asset to all of us who grew up building Dynaco's and in the later years building new or restoring older Dyna equipement. He seemed to know most everything about Dynaco products including the small details that no one knew.

I for one appreciate the time Bill spent with all of us and his generosity in the sharing his knowledge. He will be missed by many.

I recall a few of the posts you refer to with Bill Thomas. I think he enjoyed every moment debating the issues with you. On an added note,I never realized Bill was a former member of the US Marine Corps.

    Semper Fi Bill.

That is really sad to hear. Bill was a great resource for me regarding the FM-3 tuners,I learned alot from him. We exchanged a few e-mails. He was always glad to help. Thanks for posting Bob.

Bill was a great individual; he would give a lot of time and effort to help people. He showed people how to do great restorations on Dynaco equipment. I bought a ST70 from him back in 2008 and he was awesome to do business with, he worked to please his customers. He will be missed by many

This is the link to the amp he rebuilt that I bought: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=58338.0
