Found this tube online was really interested to know if any on has any experience with this tube. Was reading some data on this I believe it has a 30w anode rating. Thinking of buying a matched quad.

It is a VERY nice tube! It uses the 6L6GC guts, so it has the high ratings unlike the old stock 6L6G. I recommend this tube for the Citation V amps, the Cit V originally came with 7581As.

I sell quite a few, and the customer reaction is overwhelmingly quite positive - and the quality is excellent.

FYI, you can find a lot of data on the New Sensor made/imported tubes here:

    Jim,

Thanks for the recommendation! Btw looked at your web page, and did a little research on H-K equipment, specifically the Citation V, and the testimonials a very nice amp indeed! I am curious about the 12BY7 input tube, wasn't aware of it's use as a voltage amplifier, compared to let's say the EF86. Of course I've only been involved with tubes for about 4 years. Solid state before this, and running a small loudspeaker company for about the last 10 years or so. My interest in tubes started with Dynaco gear,I've been love struck ever since.

PS. Would love to have your impressions of the Citation V topology ,and if it could be modified to run ultra linear using Dynaco Iron?

The 12BY7A was used because it was a very high transconductance and high bandwidth tube which is what Hegeman wanted.

Regarding the Cit V, it probably isn't appropriate to discuss here. If you want to drop me a note look on my site and get in touch. I hope that you do!
