One of our members > "nraghunadh" built a custom ST-70 with an original driver circuit on a new board. You can tell from the photos that the amount of time and work put in was extensive. Custom transformer covers milled out of large aluminum tubing and tube sockets like I have never seen before. Extremely well done ... nraghunadh if you see this post maybe you can comment with more detail on how this amp was assembled ? See link to his photos below ..

Thanks for the correct link, Bob.

It was well worth the time to see how he did it. VERY impressive.

I wish I could do metalwork like that!

I am wondering what 'blue' tubes were used in the amp?
Just beautiful; thanks for the link.

Great job on the amp construction! Bob, I believe those octal tube sockets are relay sockets which commonly have octal pin-outs. These sockets are also very useful for bench protyping and testing of tube circuits and can be used with certain plug-in line transformers from various manufacturers.

    Best Regards,
    Charlie

Thank you for all your comments.
Yes, these octal relay sockets are really good to do prototyping, And i got these sockets from local electrical shop.
I have added some more photos in to the Picasa link (inside and back panel of the amp)
    Thank you
    Raghu
