SP 14/ PH 14 cooling space? Empty SP 14/ PH 14 cooling space?

    Post by Dave_in_Va Sun Mar 03, 2019 1:51 pm

    Need a little advice.
As you can see in the pic, I have the SP 14 on top of the PH 14 with an old Audio Control EQ on top of the SP 14 (but not covering the entire top).

I plan on replacing the Audio Control EQ with a larger Teac (EQA-180). I'll have to remove the spacers (but NOT the SP 14 rubber feet) under the SP 14 and the Teac will sit over the entire top of the SP 14.

Do you think there will still be enough room to keep the pre amps safely cool?

They don't put out a huge amount of heat but the SP does have four 6SN7s inside. Thanks for the help.

Dave, since the back is enclosed, I'd sure put some big Sorbanes feet between the Teac and the SP-14, or at least some quiet biscuit fan to keep the air moving back there.
That Audio Control EQ sure looks familiar. Very Happy
If you want to sell it back to me, PM me, would ya?
    Tnx

    Thanks.
The back is open, it just looks closed.
If there is room for the Teac to fit with the anti-vibration biscuits (see pic) I'll use them but I doubt if there is.
I'm waiting to see how the Teac works and then I'll have two 520B units for sale.
