Dynaco PAS3 questions Empty Dynaco PAS3 questions

Post by gcrouser Mon Jul 08, 2013 6:30 pm

    Hello,

I finished my ST70 rebuild (VTA board) & I'm loving it.

Now I have a Dynaco PAS3 that I'm looking to upgrade. I will be purchasing the new power supply & the "Z-mod" circuit board, plus other parts. I don't have a turn table & will not need a phono board.

Question 1: Is it advisable to totally omit the phono board & save 2 tubes ?

Question 2: If not, can I use the "Z-mod" board alongside the current, original phono board ? & do I still need to waste 2 tubes ?

    Thanks,

    Greg

If it were me, I would keep the phono board, in case you wanted to sale the unit in the future, it would retain a greater value, but that's just me.
