PAS3X power switch capacitor Empty PAS3X power switch capacitor

Post by icky Fri Feb 14, 2014 10:00 pm

Hello Bob, Roy, and everyone.  I know this subject has probably been covered before, but I do have a question about the capacitor across the power switch.  Dynaco used a ceramic disc but I wondered if another type of the same value would work?  I have some metalized film in stock (of the proper value and voltage) and wondered if they'd be okay?  The darn local electronics store went belly up recently and I'm trying to save on freight costs 'til I have a larger order.  Kind of hurts to pay $6 freight on a $0.48 part  Crying or Very sad
    Thanks!

    Hi Jeff,

You could put any .02 uF or .022 uF cap 200 volts or higher across that switch and it would work fine. A metallized film cap will be fine ..
