I've been lurking for a few years now so I thought I would formally join the collective and share some pictures of my set up as it is now.

I enjoy restoring old tube short wave radios, communication radios and vintage test equipment such as the HP606A and HP200AB. I've recently begun totally refurbishing my back up PAS3. I've received the new Regulated PS, Aikido and PH10 boards. Looks like I'll also eventually pick up a new selector switch to complete the job. Looking forward to hearing how it compares to my original PAS3 with updated power supply board. Always nice to have back up equipment.

Looks familiar - even with both eyes wide open!

Time to update my system.  I've recently moved my system against the back wall of my listening room (front room + dinning room in small house) to shorten and even up the speaker leads. So fa,r my rubber stopper feet and rubber stopper component casters have been successful in isolating speaker floor vibrations to the TT. I'm using B&W CDM7NT speakers powered by a pair of new Dynakit Mark III's with 6SN7 driver boards that i assembled. Preamp is a conrad-johnsom PV7, inputs are a Marantz CD player. Pioneer RT 707, Denon HX Pro cassette deck and a Fisher Studio Standard TT. Got to say it sounds excellent in this room, although my neighbors house only being 10 feet from that back wall makes me nervous.

Bonus points to anyone reading this who can tell me what the rock in front of the right speaker has in common with the damaged/broken tweeter on the metal fireplace surround?

pmarcin, yes I did finish my PAS -3 upgrades. Unfortunately, try as I might I could never completely eliminate an annoying hum that could be plainly heard between tracks and during quite passages. It had a couple additional issues as well, all that said it was a nice improvement over the stock unit but I couldn't live with the hum and didn't want to mess around with it anymore so now it's relegated to the bull pen. Maybe if I live long enough I'll take another stab at it, or just sell it as is.

I'm really enjoying the c-j PV7 in it's place however. One cool thing about having the amps in front of a mirror is it doubles the amount of tube glow when the lights are out.

So, it's in the doghouse. Sounds like a ground loop, the diyer's proverbial bete noir.
