    ST-35 C1 cap

Post by Timmyjoe on Tue Jan 27, 2015 1:38 pm

On my ST-35 the c1 cap is missing on both boards, I have also noted a jumper placed there on other boards. Why has this been done?

If you want to eliminate the high pass filter created by C1 and R2 and you are absolutely positive that there is no DC on your source, C1 can be omitted.

    Thanks for the quick reply!
I am going to reinstall the C1 cap as I am using/testing various pre-amps.
Should this cap be replaced if I am using a PAS 3X?

A properly built, stock PAS-3x in good working order should have no DC on the outputs.

If someone has modified it, all bets are off.

    Thanks again for reply...
I'm just going to add the C1's and been done with it.

Doesn't R2 and C2 make for a low pass filter? Could that be eliminated as well?
