    Mark lll Assembly Information

Post by TN Allen on Sat Jan 31, 2015 12:02 pm

A year or so ago I acquired one of the Mark lll PCBs from Mr. Mottram. I just ordered the transformers from Triode Electric, and plan to assemble the amp in the next few weeks using a chassis I'll build.

I have the Vacuum Tube Audio MK3 upgrade kit manual v11 and have assembled the PCB. I'm wondering if there are any other assembly manuals or information I should look at. I can solder carefully, but have only a limited/basic understanding of the electronics in these kits.

    I'd appreciate any suggestions.

    Got it.
Are there any interesting alternate layouts, chassis designs?

there are unlimited possible alternative layouts and chassis, use your imagination!
The Triode El chassis is totally different.
Probably at least half a dozen variations have been shown on this forum over the past few years.
Check out the 3 photos on the bottom end of this page, they are my favorites (they are actually M125s, but what's a couple of extra tubes?)
