    if it was possible to run 4 ohm speakers with a St 120 amplifier I believe there is a slight modification I need to do if anybody could help me with that thank you

    the ST120 output transformers have 4,8, & 16 OHM output tappings.
    So all you need to do is to swap the existing 8OHM tapping with the 4OHM tapping.

    Those leads in the ST120 output xfrmrs are orange for 8ohms or brown for 4ohms. You should find that brown lead curled and just loose in the chasis. If you don't have a manual for that VTA then let some of us know and we'll share. Not certain if it is here online. Dale

    Hi Robert,

    Dale has given you the correct procedure to switch your amp from 8 ohm speakers to 4 ohm speakers. Just make sure that you tape over the orange (8 ohm) lead if you do the switch. You don't want the bare metal on that lead to short to the chassis..
