Apparently there is now a new USA manufacturer of tubes in Mound House, Nevada just northeast of Carson City, NV. Right now they only are making 6L6 output tubes but supposedly they will be selling other tubes soon. Their two types of 6L6's are $85 and $125 EACH so the pricing is up there pretty high. Their web site is below if you want to check them out ....

They have a web page devoted to their manufacturing facility with some photos showing them making tubes at the link below ..

This, to me, is a pretty interesting development .. USA tubes being made again. I hope they make it and (of course) I hope the tube prices come down a little ...

This is really exciting news. This could permit much tighter quality control, as well as eliminate political issues that could affect availability. Hopefully they can partner with tube amp manufacturers and get a reliable economy of scale going that will eventually drop the prices. And hopefully next up will be quality reissues of 6550, KT88 series of tubes.

Be nice if they could come up with a plate dissipation comparable to the KT-120 as well.
Can't find them on FaceBook. I am going to write and suggest they set up a page.

Is the fancy bottle worth an extra $40?
    Hells yeah! What a Face

PS ... what's a "facebook"? Anyone primitive enough to be using tubes probably hasn't a clue ...

    http://www.rchlabs.com/our-facility/

I love the Harbor Freight vacuum pump in the third picture from their our-facility section of the website.

I hope the tubes turn out better than the tools used...still I am happy someone else is making audio tubes in America.

Looks like bad lighting to me. Rounded glass things can be a bear to photograph.

I hope these guys are successful, and can introduce more types of tubes in the future.

I got a nice note from them yesterday. Reason they're going with the 6L6 for now is its applicability to both hi-fi and guitar amps. Also said they will be trotting out some KT-88/6550 variant sometime next year.

This is great news to hear that there will be real American made Tubes made in this country. Admitting they will be more pricey but I am willing to pay extra for that "MADE IN AMERICA" label.

Well, let's see how they do.
I think the Rooskies have the big output tubes pretty well handled if we don't bomb another of their factories. Drivers and preamp tubes, there's still a need for them.

yes indeed, locally produced 6XX7 series especially would grab my attention. And, I don't mind paying more, but they will need to be VERY good indeed, much better than the Tung Sol 6XX7, which are my go to 'new tube' in that series.
Lets hope they decide to delve into these as well as some other well known and used triodes.
