SP14 assembly question Empty SP14 assembly question

The various preamp controls - selector switch, left gain, right gain, master volume, have a metal tab on the body which is presumably to keep the body of the control
from rotating as the shaft is rotated. How does one tighten the control to the panel without deforming the control? Cut a depression into the rear of the panel for the tab,
or cut off the tab to solve the problem?

    Just bend the tab straight?

Is that what you did? No problem with the body rotating?

I carefully cut off that tab from each control, then aligned them and made sure that they were sufficiently tight so that they would not loosen and rotate later. Just don't tighten so much that something cracks!

A lockwasher between the panel and the control body helps, too.

Just get out a small file and notch the case . You will not have to  over tighten the nuts or worry about it spinning .

This is on the back of my PH-15 . I installed a attenuator with different load resistors in it  so I could change the cartridge loading  without takeing it apart and soldering in different resistors .
