Has anyone tried big box stores for Klipsch speakers?

Klipsch speakers in general are well regarded, I own a pair. So it should not matter where you buy them from.

I just purchased a pair of Klipsch Cornwall III speakers through Crutchfield. I found that to be the best way for me to go because of the level of customer service that Crutchfield provides. I tried to get someone on the phone at Klipsch customer service, but never could. It was frustrating. With Crutchfield, things went smoothly from first call to final delivery. Also no sales tax and free shipping helped make this happen.
I don't know if the big box stores will carry the Heritage series of Klipsch speakers. I don't think so. They are more oriented towards home theatre systems. The Heritage series includes the Heresy, Cornwall, La Scala, and Klipschhorn. These are my favorite current production Klipsch and are timeless. You buy these to last for the long haul!

I own a pair of Forte II's since 1992 and also an Academy being used as a center speaker, all has served me well.

Don't know bout retail; I did a build of the famous K-Horns from the SPEAKERLAB plans in 1980; They are still spot-on!
Have the plans if anyone interested; Beware, some 50+ cuts of plywood just in the bottom end of each cabinet, probably close to 100 hrs build time, then the finish. fun! Dale

I'm really interested in building what are called Cornscalla's (Google Crites speakers) which are a combination of Klipsch Cornwall (Bass Bin) and LaScalla (Mid & Tweet) tons of options on drivers supposedly awesome sound for the cost (of course dependent on drivers used)
I would use ALK Engineering crossovers
I have a set of Heresy 1 that have been re capped sound pretty good with my ST-120, SP-14, Schitt Gungnir DAC

I have a pair of KG5.5's. I put in a pair of Bob Crites titanium tweeter kits and also rebuilt the cross overs using Bob's rebuild kits. I think I have less than $300 in the pair. They really wail. I love the sound of horns also. Just take a listen to "SING SING SING" by the BBC Big Band Orchestra and you will understand!
