I attended Burning Amp this month and have put up a good number of photos from the event at:

Be sure to check out the steampunk loudspeakers by Kent Leech.

Quite a number of home-brew tube amps, though I didn't see any tubes4hifi stuff there.

Siegfried Linkwitz and Nelson Pass were both in attendance. Siegfried was demonstrating his LXstudio setup which has astonishing imaging.

Rusty, where was this held? Do they burn a giant amp at the end of it?

This was held in the office of some tech company in Redwood City, California. Sorry. We didn't actually burn any amps there, but that's an interesting thought for next year? Maybe I can find a Dyna PAT-4 we can sacrifice to the audio gods.

Quite a few transistor power amps used to burn all by themselves!

An old friend of mine named Tom Tutay, who now works a great deal with tube amps, used to play with solid state amps a lot as well. One time he took a Dyna ST-150 and made some alterations to the power supply. It was a Saturday night and I was hanging out at Tom's place. He was making up a spaghetti dinner and he had just powered up the Dyna. He had the cover off so I could see the work he'd done. He always did good work.

One of the electrolytic caps was mis-marked and got wired in backwards, which resulted in a dead short. Flames about 20" high came shooting out of the amp! Wow! Tom ran over and unplugged it right away of course. As it turned out, all he did was burn out a resistor. All of the output devices were fine. But it certainly was exciting for a moment there.
