    NHT Classic 2 Speaker 6 ohms 4 or 6 ohms tap on my VTA ST 70 ?

    Hi Jim,

    You could try both taps but probably the 8 ohm tap might be a better match because most speakers have a little higher impedance than stated at certain frequencies in the audio spectrum.

    OTOH the higher impedance tap will have a higher source impedance, which means lesser control over the woofer in the low frequencies. With some woofers, whose alignment may be underdamped, this could result in an audible difference.

    I am not familiar with the NHT Classic 2 so I can't say how this will affect YOUR system.
