I took four 3mm x 6mm long coupling nuts( I used brass but I think nylon would work too), pulled the 2 little boards apart and screwed the coupling nuts to the inner board. I outlined where it should fit and then used smallest clamps H.F. sells to hold a straight edge to the top line, then put some JB weld on the inner side of the coupling nuts and lined the board up to the side marks and straightedge. The 6mm nut if a little shy of the faceplate, but the JB will ooze down and make contact.
