    Bob,

I see you have a OPPO BDP-83 Special Edition. What do you think of it? Is it really worth the additional cost?

    Thanks
    Reid

    Hi Reid,

This Oppo BDP-83 Special Edition universal player is really nice. It plays everything - Blu-ray, SACD, DVD-A, CD etc. and has much better DAC's, power supply and analog section than the standard BDP-83. It has the best bass I have ever heard on a CD player - really low and tight. I think it is worth the extra $400 over the standard player. I bought it through the Audio Advisor and they have a 30 day return policy - but - it is not going back ... It was recently rated a class "A" component by Stereophile magazine in their recent April 2010 magazine.

    Bob

    I've heard good things...and good music...from the Oppo BDP-83SE, too. I don't have one yet...but I might, soon.

How long before Lexicon plops these new Oppos into their own fancy cabinet, claims it's their own, and charges an 800% higher price for it? You can't spell "Lexicon" without "CON."
