    Octal Mk3 board pin 1 pin 6 V1 jumper Empty Octal Mk3 board pin 1 pin 6 V1 jumper

Instruction 1 for my Mk 3 octal boards requires a jumper from Pin 1 to Pin 6 on V1. This connects the v1 grid to the unused side of the tube's cathode.

What does this do? Is it really to be installed on the tube socket before the socket is fitted to the board?

    thanks for any input.

Got it sorted out. It's Plate1 to Plate2. The instructions say V1 pin1 to Pin6. The stuffing guide says P1-P2. What is confusing is that the two sections of V1 are run in parallel. This is not shown on the schemo.

All is well that ends well.
