Dynaco FM-3 Transformer

Hi everyone,

I'm hoping you can help.

I'm looking for a source of the power transformer for a FM-3 tuner. The catch is I want it to run off 240v.

Either a suppler for the 240v equivalent will do, or if that fails, does anyone have the specs for the original transformer and I can get one custom wound.

I just finished an FM-3 and was in touch with the gentleman below who is in Italy He did a Chauncey Epperson motherboard re-build but he had a custom 240V transformer built for it and could be of some help to you.

contact heyboer transformers--they built a 120v for me--you may have to send your old one for reverse engineering-took about 2 weeks total 125.00-as he built one for me he may have the specs--howie

Couldn't you use one of the 240 to 120 step down transformers and power a few things? Not the little wall adapters for hair driers, but the old school transformer style, and skip modification of the FM3? Not sure if anything wrong with using the transformer style step downs, but might be an easier task.

@Sandy - thanks I could do this but I prefer to have the unit working properly on 240v. Much more portable that way and nicer...
