SP 8 Capacitor and Transformer info please Empty SP 8 Capacitor and Transformer info please

Hi All, new guy here, have been lurking but now have an SP-8; and,
while Roy is on vacation I thought I'd try the forum for some info.

Capacitors that don't have their polarity marked on the wiring diagram are unpolarized, Right?
Circles on the board rather than squares and circles.
Not soldering any in until I'm sure Embarassed

    and

Anyone recommend a transformer for the SP-8?
Secondarys are 2x250v and either 1x12V or 2x6V.

    Thanks!

"Capacitors that don't have their polarity marked on the wiring diagram are unpolarized, Right?"

Correct - polarity is only (very!) important in electrolytic capacitors. Electrolytic caps have stripe on the side to designate the negative terminal. On the board, a SQUARE soldering pad is for the positive terminal and a ROUND soldering pad is for the negative terminal.

    Thanks Bob,
I'm working from a 1970's vintage high school electronics shop knowledge base here
and some of those "circuits" seem to have gone dark on me Rolling Eyes
    Apologies for the remedial questions.

    Opinion please:

Hammond 270X transformer has 2x250v and 1x5v and 1x6.3, so 11.3 for the filament.
    Antek AS-1T250 has 2x250 and 2x6.3 for 12.6.

One better than the other? What do I really need for the filament.
    Any help appreciated!
