Name that board Empty Name that board

Trying to identify my driver board.
It most closely resembles the one Triode Electronics advertises. The tech that answered my query said they never used that color board unless it was a very long time ago.
It uses a 12au7 tube in the center position and two ef86 tubes to the sides.
There are no letters or numbers visible; top or bottom.

    Name that board DSCF0115

Whatever it is, it sounds good. I replaced the center Mullard 12au7 with Cifte/Mazda and am not looking back (hope they work as well in my SP-12

    Thanks,
    frank

    Hello Frank,

That board seems to be the EF86 version of the SDS Labs replacement board for an ST-70. I have the 6AU6 version, and I happen to like it. The pdf of the board and component layout sure looks like your board. It's available here: http://www.quadesl.com/pdf/st70board_ef86.pdf

    Good luck with yours,

    Tony

    HI Tony,

I'm not sure. I think that is the board Triode sells. Is your board yellow/tan?
Where did you get yours? There isn't much info on SDS driver boards out there.

    Thanks,
    Frank

    Frank,

My board is tan/yellow, similar to yours, but is green on the bottom, and has the SDS name screened on the top with the component layout. Yours pretty much matches in all respects, except the green colored bottom, and no screening. The pdf I refered you to can be used to etch your own board. I went as far as getting a board, and the chemicals to do the job, then had to find clear sheets 8.5"x11" to transfer the image. Then I got a good deal from Triode for the board, and just didn't go through with etching.

Your board looks like someone etched his own. But where the components are placed still matches the SDS layout. I have a manual for it that came from Triode Electronics, but I don't have a way to post it, and they updated the manual for their "new" version of the ST-70 so it isn't available at their site as far as I saw.

I can email it to you if you want.

    Tony

Upon closer inspection, the parts layout is nearly the same, just some components shifted around. I still think it was a custom etch job.
