    Mark 3 driver boards Empty Mark 3 driver boards

    Any recommendations for driver boards? Options I've seen:
    1. Original replacement design
    2. Curcio audio upgrade
    3. Triode electronics upgrade
    4. Poseidon driver board (diytube.com)

    I'm not interested in preserving the original sound of the amp. I'd
    like to correct all the know issues to make this amp sound the best
    it can.

    Yes, If you are going to go with an upgrade board on your Mark III instead of a stock type board then the Tubes4hifi VTA upgrade driver board should also be considered. Here are two reasons why ... Laughing

    1. Most upgrade driver boards do not allow individual biasing of each tube as the VTA does. Those are the two small blue potentiometers that you see on the top. Most upgrade driver boards still rely on the original bias system which was for each PAIR of tubes. With this driver board you don't absolutely need a matched pair of output tubes.

    2. Most other upgrade driver boards do not have an "on board" power supply. Those are the two black capacitors on the back edge in the photo. If a driver board doesn't have an on board high voltage power supply it has to "steal" power from the quad cap, underchassis power supply or whatever is the main power supply in the amp.
