I do not often wright in to these forums but feel that my experience may help others. I had decided I wanted a tube amplifier and after a lot of research decided to build the ST70 kit offered by Bob Latino. Needles to say I was a little nervous about my purchase since I hadn't done any electronics work or even touched a soldering iron for many years. Well I took my time and built the ST70 and have it up and running now. The only difficulty I had was a hum in one channel when testing. I called Bob and he immediately suggested that one of the tubes on the driver board may be the cause. I switched the center tube with the tube for the channel that was noisy and low and behold no hum. This amp was not difficult to build as long as you take your time and follow the directions. The amp sounds fantastic and Bob was very helpful and answered any questions I had. If you are looking for a tube amp kit don't be afraid of this great little kit. Just posting this to hopefully help others who may be considering building this amp but are not sure or nervous. Again I would like to thank Bob Latino.

Re: VTA ST70 and my experience
I just built one last weekend. Did the mechanical mounting in a couple hours on Friday, the point to point wiring and the board on Saturday, clean up and testing on Sunday. I have about 4 hours on it now running a TT and a CD through a Schiit SYS and some modded 1982 Klipsch Hersey's. It sounds amazing. The soundstage, cymbals, horns and drums are way better that my Carver TFM35.
