    vta st120 - Selling ST120...Maybe Empty Selling ST120...Maybe

I'm thinking of selling my ST120 amplifier. I love it, but simply not using it enough to justify it just sitting there. You can see it and construction details here:

    http://rvbprecision.com/stereo/vta-st120-dynaco-clone-tube-amplifier-build-in-pictures.html

Not sure what to ask for it. It has less than 50 hours on it.

I'd like to get $1300......Do you think this is realistic?

    Thanks!

YES; Very well done. List on the "for sale' here with complete description. Looks like ABB and dual output imped jacks. Also do you have extra tubes to go with it. Dale

No extra tubes....Just the stock tubes Bob included with the amp.

I decided to sell it for $1300....But it needs to be picked up in Massachusetts. No way would I ship this beautiful amp. Too heavy and too fragile to trust the shipping companies, especially the way things are currently.

It's a wonderful amp.....But time to put some $$ back in the cookie jar!

It can be done. I wrapped my VTA120 in bubble wrap just enough to fit into a medium FedEx box. Tape it up really well. Then I put that into a larger FedEx box but again surrounded by 2 or 3 layers of bubble wrap on all sides. Double boxing is a must and everything should be as tight as possible. Tape the outer box well too. Ship the tubes in a separate box.

R, Corndog71 is correct; you probably need to add shipping. Last amp I shipped was just as he said. I took the naked amp to FEDEX store and they did the wrap/2x boxes. Dale

After yet another listening session with my new KEF LS50 Metas, we decided to not sell the VTA ST120. It just sounds so darn good ! If I need money I can always sell a kidney or something else!
