Pas 3x volume fluctuations.

I have a PAS 3x and it's been a ball so far. Just recently it started to fluctuate like the volume was being turned from regular to almost off at a very quick pace.

Was wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

Does the 12x4 affect the sound of the Pas3.

Really love this pre-amp.

After hearing a Shindo Preamp in my system was amazed how quiet the Dynaco was.

Try unplugging and plugging the 12X4 tube a few times to see if the problem goes away.

if it's an original 50 year old volume control, it's probably going bad

I just ordered a NOS 12x4 tube, and I am trying to pick a cool person to fix it.

re-plugged the 12x4 and presto, instant music again. Still being careful with the volume.

Are you sure that is the pas the problem?
Some time ago i think the same think but the problem was the source.
Try with another source.

I just came from an other pre-amp to this one, unfortunetly its the pas 3. I found a person who's been working on Dynaco stuff for a long while and I just shipped it off for its "restoration".

No tunes for now :-(

The fix did work, but I thought just to make sure all is happy in Pas 3x land I would send it off for it's 40 year checkup.
