    new here, lookin around probably have way too many questions...
    not really a diy guy at all cant solder worth a damn. but giving some thought about replacing an mc275 with ______   ( insert suggestion)

    I really like the bullet proof nature of my mac though......

    First off, that's one fine amp you already got, and highly prized in tube circles. If it is indeed making you think about replacing it, might just be that it's showing it's age? If your skillz are limited, you might want to consider having it professionally gone thru. I'd expect a simple recap and a couple tweaks by an expert could make it sing again.

    If you do decide to go with a replacement, output of the Mac is 75 watts per channel, so I expect you'd be wanting to go with either the ST120 stereo amp (a very conservative 60wpc rating) or the big 125 monos ... Bob & Co will build them for you for a very reasonable fee. Both are exceptional, and have very dedicated fan bases ...

    And if you don't want to be tripping over that old hunk o'junk, send it my way. I'm sure I'll find some use for it.  rabbit
