I built an St70 kit about 8 years ago, and was very happy with it. I have been reading a lot on tubes and amps and am considering a new amp. I would like to know if the st-70 kit can utilize a different line -up of tubes and what mods would be required.
I'm intrigued by combining the 274B rectifier and EL37 power tubes. I could go with 12au7 tubes ( my current line up is 12AT7, EL34 and GZ34). I also would like to try a GZ37 I have acquired. Can the 274B work with EL37?
