    Pentode/triode switch position? Empty Pentode/triode switch position?

    An entirely DUMB question, since I’ve owned the VTA ST-120 for almost 2 years now....

    I’ve never moved it much — which direction on the switches are triode vs pentode?  Which way is TOWARDS the transformers?

    ‘Sorry, can’t locate my manual just now.....

    Pentode ultralinear mode is when the switch faces the power transformer. This is the normal mode of operation of the amp. Triode mode is when the switch faces the driver board.

    Thanks Bob; I think triode mode will be perfect for the Nick Drake binge I’m about to go on!

    You’re the best — I’m sure any number of readers could have answered, but from the seller, on a holiday weekend, is priceless!  I’m certain the big boy companies don’t have service like this!
