    Hi

Here is a photo of my ST120 amplifier which I finished building today.

It has all the options, including the attenuator, VTA -TDR relay triode/pentode switch and upgraded caps.

The acrylic cover fo the driver board is cracked and will be replaced.

I purchased the Genelex? Gold lion KT88 and Gold lion 12au7 tubes.

Still trying to decide on a permanent location for the amp..

No issues whatsoever, although I don’t have a preamplifier.

That's a pretty picture right there!

May I ask from where you purchased the tall copper cap solid state rectifier?

    Hi

    Thanks.
The solid state rectifier can be purchased from tubes4hifi.com, the same business which sells the amplifier kits.
Here is a link to the website. Scroll down the page for the relevant info,

    Hi

    The amp sounds great!
No audible hum from the speakers.
I’m concerned about at AC mains cord connection to the amp.
Is there some way I can stop the cord from being pushed into the amp.
I’m thinking some kind of connector placed around the cord on the outside?
Can anyone recommend the best, not absurdly priced pre amplifier for the ST120.

    Thanks.

Your cable should be fitted with a grommet where it passes through the chassis. Yours may be too big for the cable. In Australia Altronics sell a variety of types and sizes.

I can highly recommend the VTA SP-14 preamp from the same stable as your ST120

    Hi
A cord grip grommet is perfect.
I knew what I wanted to do, just didn’t know the name of that part.
    Thanks!
