New ST-70 Build

Recently completed one of Bob's ST-70 kits. It was a blast to build and sounds absolutely fantastic - amazing really. Came into it with only very minimal soldering experience. Ran into only a couple of snags and Bob was right there to quickly answer questions as they popped up. I would think just about anybody could successfully build one of these kits.

Using Gold Lion KT66, NOS Mullard 12AU7 (low gain board) and a NOS Mullard GZ33.
Great sounding combo.

I'd like to pick up a set of EL34s as a back up and just to compare sound. I know Bob likes the Chinese Shuagang (sp?). What other EL34s have you st70 owners tried and liked? Anybody do comparisons of the various New Sensor brands?

I'd also like to isolate my amp - anybody know of anything that works particularly well with the ST70 - vibrapods, cones etc???

Congratulations, your amp looks great! Just for fun, go to an art supply or school supply store and buy a few artgum erasers. Try those out (use 4 or 5) before you buy anything more costly. I have had fairly good results using these in the past.
