Edcor on ST-35 Empty Edcor on ST-35

    Post by ESL-57 Wed Feb 07, 2024 2:06 pm

Has anyone used Edcor CXPP25-MS-8k/23% transformers on their ST-35’s? The specs seem similar but I wonder about the winding integrity compared to the original Z-565’s. The usual clones have only 4 and 8 ohm taps, but I need a 16 and Edcor offers that. Any help or opinions?

    Thanks

Looks like Pacific Audio Magnetics has a clone in 8 and 16 ohms too. I know nothing about this company.

Edcor on ST-35 Empty Regarding Edcor Output transformers

Post by Solder Slinger Fri Feb 16, 2024 1:39 pm

While Edcor makes good power transformers, I was not impressed by the output transformers that I purchased to build a pair of Dyna Mark III clones a few years back. That said, I have no idea what the CXPP25-MS-8ks are like. I would purchase from Triode Electronics, (whom I have experience with) if it was my choice but the Pacific Audio Magnetics may be excellent as well, just don't know that brand.

    YMMV
