Latino Amp Question. Empty Latino Amp Question.

    Post by WntrMute2 Fri Nov 26, 2010 9:14 am

I'm excited about building a ST-120 kit and I'm wondering what load speakers will be appropriate? I have both 4 and 8 ohm speakers and they are in 2 different systems so I want to try the amp in both systems. Anyone have experiences they can share?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

You will be fine with either speaker/load with the ST120.
The OPT's actually have taps for 4 and 8 ohm speakers. IMO, I would use the 8 ohm tap.

I run a set of Infinity Kappa's with my ST120 on the 8 ohm tap and it flat out DRIVES them good!

Have fun building your amp and enjoy!

    Hi,

If you have two different speaker systems, one 4 ohm and one 8 ohm, in two diffrent systems, what I would do is put spade lugs on BOTH the 4 ohm BROWN wire and the 8 ohm ORANGE wire. Then, instead of soldering one of the wires on to the binding post inside the amp, just loosen the nut on the inside and slip the correct spade under the nut on the positive (RED) binding post. Then tighten the nut.

Latino Amp Question. Empty deluxe triple speaker posts $34 pair

Check out the "deluxe triple speaker posts $34 pair " on the

    http://www.tubes4hifi.com/ST70.ht

You have a 4 ohm and 8 ohm Positive and can easily go back and fourth with the 2 sets of speakers. I am builing an ST-120 and ordered these the other day... For similar reasons

Did you try these and what was the result? The website claims they are for the ST-70 and the MK-3 only. Did they fit your ST-120?
    Thanks

The triple binding post will also fit the ST-120. I do not stock these but you can get them directly from Roy Mottram at tubes4hifi.
