    Triple the parts increases the potential failure rate & cost.
    - drops more voltage
    - increases heat
    Both small, but both are 100% negative with zero positives

    Another flaw I thought for the 2x on the input is that if one fails, the amp is going to be running at half voltage. Not a good thing if the diode lets go under high load. The signal will be severely clipped until the amp is depowered. Might be hard on the tweeters.
