Last night I sat in my darkened room and listened to Christmas with Dino, one of my favorite Christmas albums (on CD.) I had opened my last bottle of 1994 Joseph Phelps Insignia, a wonderful older wine with aromas of crushed blackcurrant, cinnamon, a little clove maybe, fine tannins and a long, long lingering finish. God I love wine. Wine is like music, very subjective. You can enjoy cheap stuff or expensive stuff, but what you get out of it is what you imagine and care to ferret out. I like wine in a dark room with music, preferably a wine that makes me think. The snow was falling, the wind was howling, and Dino was crooning and life is good. I can't wait to hear this on my VTA 70 after the build.
So to all, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, and if you enjoy a cocktail with your music, what's your flavor?
