Hi,
If you can't get the CE 525 volt 80, 40, 30, 20 quad cap you can get the 550 volt F&T 80, 40, 30, 20 quad cap from Dynakitparts. It has the same symbol markings as the CE cap except the CE cap has one lug with no symbol which on the F&T cap is a round symbol. The Dynakitparts quad cap is about $13 more than the CE cap but is rated 25 volts higher.

Hi Bob.
Is the extra 25 volt cushion really needed for the ST70, mark II, or mark IV? Will it make a difference in these amps?
I need three Quad caps and $18 per unit starts to add up after xmas.
thanks

Hi,
You will probably have to go with the Dynakitparts cap anyhow because the CE Distribution 80, 40, 30, 20 cap is out of production right now and not available. I think CE is changing over to new machinary or changing the site of production of their quad caps. I am not sure exactly why they are not available right now?

Hi Mark,
That Ctech ($75!) 80, 40, 30, 20 @ 550 volt quad cap is an "Authenticap" made by F&T (Fischer & Tausche) in Germany and it is the SAME cap that Dynakitparts sells for $52.50. I know that for a fact. I do not believe that Mundorf makes any quad caps. I talk to Kevin at Dynakitparts from time to time. He mentioned to me that he regretted raising the price from $49.95 to $52.50 on the F&T made quad cap but the exchange rate between the German Mark and the US dollar has changed with the dollar being devalued.

80/40/30/20 Caps
Thanks for the info Bob and Tanner, for my ST-35,I found the electrolytic cap at Zack Engineering(Vibroworld.com)I checked and did not see one for a Mark 3.They had ones for the ST-70 though.I did see one at 80/40/20/20/but it was only rated for 450 volts. They did say they would make custom orders.Maybe if you wrote them and described to them that there would be a lot more people needing them, well who knows.Mark K.
