Is failure imminent? Empty Is failure imminent?

I was listening two days ago. All of a sudden there was snap, crackle, and pop in one channel. It continued regardless of volume. I turned the amp off, waited a few minutes, then turned it back on. After two full days of constant use, there has not been a repeat of the noise.

    Capacitor going bad somewhere?

What you describe is more likely to be a tube issue .. an output tube on that channel or one of the driver tubes that feed that channel ..

Thanks, Bob. So, I swapped all tubes L+R. I'll wait to see if/when the noise recurs, then swap drivers.
