    A serious question:
What tunes would you not subject your tubes to. I have received, via another site, some suggestions:
"You Light Up My Life" by Debbie Boone
"Love Will Keep Us Together" by Captain and Tenille
    "Toking" by Lawrence Welk
    Anything by Seals & Croft
    Anything by Wings
    Anything by Barry Manilow.
    Doubt this covers the list....

In the interest of conserving electrons of course.

Formerly? When did he shed that monicker?

May I add most anything by Chicago after their first album.

    Feathers fully in place.
We're ruling out the Archies and the 1910 Fruit Gum Company, of course. They are beneath even our low standards of contempt.
I have a lot of un-spun vinyl from recent yard sales; they are venting their mildew on the front porch. Again, just trying to conserve precious electrons.

whoa!! sorry, I beg to differ, Journey is one of my favorites . . .
Barry Manilow makes me pretty sick though . . . and Debby Boone was OK what, 30 years ago, until it got overplayed just like "Yesterday" by Paul McCartney.
So meanwhile, I'll add WINGS to the list, I love the Beatles, and the newer stuff, but that was a rough period . . . .
And although not a huge Prince fan, he has 3 or 4 tunes that I really love . . . . . sorry!!
Anybody want to add AMERICA to the list? ( a horse with no name, should be SHOT !!)

    WHOA!...America??...now c'mon there....now I'm hurt!! Crying or Very sad
But lets add any 'traditional' Country & Western....bad enough to get by innards moving!! Evil or Very Mad

If you mean Nashville C&W, there is commentary on this subject by Houston Marchman, entitled Viet Nashville:

Not all "country" is bad. Real country comes outta Texas, not Tennessee. Think of Jerry Jeff, Ray Wiley Hubbard, Roy Clark. I burn electrons for them.

One annoying observation, the trend of contemporary male singers to have shot up a few octaves over the last couple few decades, at this point it sounds like they've got their balls cranked down hard in a shop vise or suffered some other terrible industrial accident. Tennessee Ernie Ford - listen to the guy sing "Precious Moments" when he was in his prime, for example.

For just one example of annoyingness, the Beatless, when they stopped shaving, started doing drugs and getting all preachy and cosmic. Their solo work is mostly even worse. Most of the surviving 60s bands should have hung it up a long time ago. Rock and roll is a young mans game, geriatric people jumping around in spandex is just pathetic.

Just wondering how you all rate the Guardians of the Galaxy soundtrack? I hated 70s pop music even then, but I had to give that movie's soundtrack a thumb's up.

    Enjoy or hurl.

Interesting backstory on the Village People, Dogstar.
The YMCA in Coeur d'Alene Idaho was doing a fund-raiser to build a new pool and had a slide-show that featured the Village People's "YMCA" on its soundtrack. The local director had no clue . . .
"In the Navy" was dreadful, too, but Kelsey Gramer made a great spoof of it in the "Down Periscope" movie's closing credits. I guess that would be your ultimate drag boat, Tubers4hifi.
