I was at my local audio repair shop and saw an Audio Research D125.

It looks pretty heavy duty but what caught my eye was the fact that all three transformers were in a row right next to each other.  I thought you had to turn the transformers 90 degrees to each other to keep them from interfering with each other?  Does Audio Research know this?

To keep this relevant, I was told that ARC's first power amplifiers were based on Dynaco ST-70 amplifiers.

    Appearances can be deceiving ...

    Transformer layout question 2

Still hard to tell, but I'd think they kept with convention, and just went with matching pot covers ...

The Audio Research ST-70-C3 was a rebuild of the Dynaco Stereo 70, using
    the chassis and transformers.

The Audio Amateur magazine published a construction article for it, and
Old Colony Sound Lab (The Audio Amateur magazine's retail operation)
sold a kit of parts with instructions.
