VTA70 Upgrade a Success!

Wow! Thanks Bob and thanks Roy. The VTA70 upgrade in my old ST70 is just fantastic. As much as I loved the old ST70, this upgrade seems to give me more definition and less of the muddiness of the old sound. Next project is to install the pentode/triode switches.

Good to hear. I love my VTA70 (the only original parts on mine are the output tranformers and the chassis/cage, everything else came from Bob.) I did all the upgrades at once. I put the switches in for pentode/triode, but I just prefer to leave mine in pentode mode.

Did you upgrade the big can capacitor and replace the selenium rectifier?? If not, I'd go ahead and do that as well.

I had done the the selenium rectifier some years ago, but I was pleased to see the new vta board does seems to incorporate that fix as well.  As to the quad can, I had recently put a new one in, but my next upgrade will be to go to the larger capacity can.
