I recently joined the group and Phil Lefever was kind enough to send me a welcoming email. Below is my response to him and I feel I should present it to all members as a way of introducing myself:
I am new to tube amps and want to build/restore my own versus just buying one. The SCA-35 is considered to be an outstanding unit that is relatively simple in design and construction as well as having a very large parts support network. I have a original chassis minus the xformers, tubes and faceplate that I will build back up using new parts. I plan on using Dave’s EFB power supply board as well as modifying the unit to accept 6U8A tubes instead of 7199s. If you have any other suggestions please feel free to let me know.
All suggestions or comments are welcome.
