Based on sKiZo's previous description and recommendation, I have my stereo stuff going through one of these. About a month ago, we had a lightning strike out on the patio that rocked the house and even knocked some things off an adjacent bookshelf. That strike took out a TV and cable box in the master bedroom, and a desktop computer and an almost brand-new printer in the den. The strike shut down the GFI and all the stereo gear came out unscathed. The next morning I found where the strike hit. It turned out to be a mop with an aluminum handle rod leaning up against the patio fence; blew that mop to smithereens! Total replacement costs over $500.
