    Can I safely use my amp to power Stax Electret Earspeakers? The SR-40' earspeakers are plugged into a box labeled SRD-4 that has leads that are connected to the output of the amp.

    I'm asking before trying and finding out there is a compatibility issue.

    As the unit is designed to connect directly to speaker outputs, and not headphone outputs, the short answer is yes. Just follow package directions. Amp to Box to Headphones. Not Amp to Headphones.
