That event is something of a strange occurrence. All the sacrificial devices are left in an open field for 24+ hours, where they are harvested for items such as veneer, hardware, solid wood parts (doors, legs, inlay) and such. By the time it is dark on Friday night and the festivities begin, there is not much left but core materials.
As to 6550s - probably no more than a dozen or three go out on the target range - there are pretty much always two potato guns in use.
