    Ideas?
I've got a few pairs of ESS Heils in the basement.
I can do the razor glue thingie to replace the foam woof surrounds (which woofs were used by Mac on their ML series), but the pyramid-shaped boxes need re-clothing as well. Any wisdom as to how to proceed? I've got some old Egyptian cotton sheets, but they're stained up even ickier than the current crud.

The rule-of-thumb for audio speaker grill cloth is that you must be able to read a newspaper headline clearly at one yard, holding the grill cloth in front of you at arm's length - meaning that the newspaper is 1 yard + arm's length away. Otherwise, the highs are wiped.

https://acousticalsolutions.com/product-category/acoustic-fabrics/speaker-fabrics/?utm_campaign=Speaker_Fabric is one of several sources.

Sheer stockings will do the trick - and make OK temporary fan-belts in a pinch as well. Explaining why there was always an egg-shaped container in my pre-serpentine belt tool box....

I'd leave 'em bare nekkid but the friend I'm rebuilding them for has cats. Maybe a little run of 440 DC around their bases as a cat-deterrent would do the trick. or might this induce LF noise?
I think my old Dynaco A-35s and the ESS Heils were originally clothed in sofa-covering cloth. You can' see a search-light out of either.
I'm back to the Egyptian cotton sheets, run 'em through the washer-dryer cycle time one more time and whatever survives. Ain't like I'm charging him for all this grunt-work.

A pair of German Shepard woofers will work as a cat deterrent.
