6AN8 Revisited

Hi,

I could only find one thread regarding this subject dated back in 2011 and wanted to get a more up-to-date response. Can anyone recommend a reputable vendor/seller for the 6AN8 tube? I see quite a few listed on eBay and elsewhere, but have never purchased from any of them.

I don't recall purchasing new 6AN8 but have other tubes and/or tube related goods from Tube Depot, Tube Store, and AES that I have been happy with.

Ebay has listed 300 auctions for 6AN8 tubes. Some are used but many are new. You may feel more comfortable with a vendor. A google search will find some tube vendors if you do not get enough info from this forum.

I got all of my tubes from hamfests from years ago. The hamfests have dropped off in attendants, size and available electronics and tubes. keep an eye out for them in your area. Can be fun to attend....but get there early.

WLT. A Hamfest, hmm... what a great idea, and one that I never considered. It just so happens that there is one in my area in January. I will definitely attend. Thanks!


J. I have used all of the vendors' you mentioned above in some shape or form for all of my DIY projects. They all offer great products at great prices. Cheers!
