    The Fisher 800-B

    Good afternoon everyone.

I know this is off-topic from our Dynaco gear but I thought I would mention it here.

After I get through building my VTA ST-120 I plan to get a nice old tube receiver and this is the one I have my eyes on. What more could you ask for then a really nice old Fisher tube receiver.... ?

I'll be able to run some outputs to my new VTA amplifier and hook up a nice phono player and an extra set of speakers running off the 30 watts per channel that the receiver puts out on its own.

I Love this old nice looking receiver.

And of course I will be doing a complete restoration, RF/IF alignment, and replacement of all the necessary caps and tubes.
If not this one I will be looking for a nice clean 800B like this one.

Have a good day all and stay safe my friends.

What the receiver should look like after restoration.

When I was a younger my grandfather had one of these Fisher 800-B's and it was a beast ! I will never forget the soundstage that so easily came out from that tank lol.

The price of that peace was around $480.00 US dollars back in 1961. Today in 2021 it would be around $4,250.00 US lol.
