Here's a picture of three Mark II amps that have been sitting in an attic for forty years. My friend wants me to get them working again.

I'll post in the main forum, with a link to this photo, and describe what I'm planning to do.

    John,

Maybe I missed something here, but I can't see any other thread, nor any links.

Those are 3 interesting amps you have there. I would guess that 2 of them are for sure Mark II units, but there in one (the one sandwiched between the two, that appears as if it might be a Mk III? I only mention this as to the apparent dimensions of the driver board. I know my early Mk IIs have 'square' driver boards, where as my Mark IIIs have the 'rectangular' board. I do believe there were some transition units of the Mk IIs that did have the rectangular boards as well. Easiest way for me to tell is the presence of a 4 ohm speaker tap or a choke underneath! I will add that I think my Mk IIs actually sound better than my Mk IIIs. This may be a function of the EL34s vs the 6550s, but even so, I find the distinction quite 'audible'. So, treat these Mk IIs with love!! Tom D.
