    can this be done? is it advisable and are modifications required?

    Hi,

    The Tung-Sol KT120 output tubes draw more current than any KT88 or 6550 tube and the power transformers in any original Mark III will be stressed more than normal. At the very least the amp will run warmer than normal. Whether this will cause any harm to the amp, I cannot say. As for any modifications, I would say to drop the bias a little to keep the current draw on each tube a little lower.

    If you have a newer Mark III kit from Dynakitparts then I would Email Kevin at Dynakitparts for some guidance on this issue ..
